I remember hearing Norm Abram (sp?) on "This Old House" call the hole in a wooden wine barrel a bunghole once.

Both Nash and Studebaker were cars "ahead of their time". People were not ready to accept their bold concepts. I liked both brands, and thought they were extremely innovative.

The most important money making feature for the makers of the early 50's Nash Ramblers was the fact that their FRONT SEAT WENT DOWN TO FORM A BED.!!!!!!!!!!!!! A real nightmare to moms of teen daughters and I'm sure a delight to all Closeted Gay Guys at the time that save hotel or motel costs or avoid being bitten by bugs out in the woods. Its said that the Proctor and Gamble Company worked on a seat cleaner that could effectively remove stains from cloth car seats. Also in it's wisdom, Nash did not offer floor shifts or floor consoles in all their models. Only the smartest and wisest of fathers, could tell about HANKY PANKY by taking a close look at the wrinkles and creases on the upper passenger side floor boards caused by feet bracing against it for leverage.!!!
